With all variations of HiFi equipment in use today, most will have left over Phono sockets not in use.
These leftover unused sockets will slowly corrode and tarnish due to being exposed to the environment. Connected sockets stay in good order due to the mating plug protecting them from the outside elements.
These Phono socket covers available from RJP Audio Overhaul, help to prolong the lifespan of these unused connections.
Available in pairs of one Red and one White (Right / Left), these are a relatively cheap means to protecting external connections.
